You can use fresh rhubarb or frozen rhubarb for this sauce recipe.
When making a rhubarb sauce or syrup recipe there is NO need to thaw the frozen rhubarb before making the recipe.
Make it in MINUTES!
Note - if you prefer to use your stove-top instead of the microwave, bring rhubarb to a boil, and simmer on low for about 10 - 15 minutes, stirring often so as not to allow the mixture to stick to bottom of pan.
4 cups chopped fresh or frozen rhubarb
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Combine all the above ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl.
Cover, and micro-wave on medium-high, or high (depending on Microwave wattage), for 8 - 10 minutes, or until the rhubarb is tender.
Stir occasionally during cooking.
Allow to cool, or serve warm.Serves 4.
