Did You Know?

Although often treated as a fruit, rhubarb is a vegetable.

Another name for "rhubarb" is "the pie plant".

Rhubarb is low in calories, low in fat, cholesterol free, and is high in fibre, providing approximately 5 grams of fibre per cup of cooked rhubarb!.

The leaves of the rhubarb plant are toxic (poisonous). This is due to the fact that they contain oxalic acid. Only the stalks of the rhubarb plant are edible.
